Pack of 6 – Greeting Cards inspired by British Steam Train Journeys
A set of six Art Deco/Nouveau-style patterned luxury cards inspired by British steam train journeys.
FANFARE – Inspired by the luxury Belmond British Pullman; sister train to the Venice Simpson-Orient-Express. Journeys on the Belmond British Pullman include visits to stately homes and historic cities. The pattern uses architectural shapes from iconic buildings –Salisbury Cathedral and Bath Abbey– and is influenced by the beautiful marquetry panelling in the carriages.
BLUEBELL (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) – The British Bluebell with its delicate droop of sweetly-scented bell-shaped flowers. Inspired by the Bluebell Railway in Sussex, England, one of the first preserved heritage lines in the country. The journey includes Horsted Keynes station (TV’S 'Downton') restored to the mid-1920s Southern Railway period. Look closely, the pattern contains rivets, tracks, points and a leaf steam dome.
SCOTS ROSE – Inspired by the West Highland Railway in Scotland on which The Jacobite Steam Train crosses over the magnificent Glenfinnan Viaduct. Down from the Glenfinnan Viaduct at the head of Loch Shiel, stands the Glenfinnan Monument: a tribute to the loyal Jacobites who rallied behind Bonnie Prince Charlie. According to legend, a white rose was picked by Bonnie Prince Charlie and pinned to his blue bonnet. The white cockade (a knotted white ribbon or cloth) became a symbol of allegiance to the Jacobite cause.
